Kohli and De Villiers are regarded as two of the best batsman in modern-day cricket but past record suggests that whenever the illustrious duo have come up against Sandeep, they has been found wanting against the guile of the pacer.
In this particular clash, the two teams are chasing different targets as Bangalore need a win to stay alive in the tournament as far as qualification for knock-outs is concerned while as for Hyderabad — who have already qualified for the playoffs — would like keep the momentum going by winning this match.
And for both teams to achieve their respective targets, Kohli, De Villiers (RCB) and Sandeep (SRH) will definitely have a huge say in the outcome of the match.
Kohli and De Villiers have been amongst the leading run-getters in the ongoing edition of the tournament and the duo are the main reason why RCB are still fighting for a place in knock-outs despite starting the tournament with a string of defeats.
De Villiers & Kohli have accounted for 46.01% of the total runs scored by the RCB players this season, while the duo are the only two RCB players who have scored 250+ runs for them this season. Moreover, out of the 10 fifties RCB players have scored, eight have come either from either AB's (4) or Kohli's (4) blade.
However, Sandeep's record against these two suggest that he is more than capable to stopping the Kohli-ABD juggernaut, that has been giving nightmares to the other bowlers in the league.
Sandeep has managed to dismiss Kohli as many as five times in the cash-rich league previously, and off the 33 balls that the RCB skipper has faced off Sandeep, Kohli has scored 56 runs at a strike rate of 169. While against De Villiers, Sandeep has been impressive as well as he has removed the South African twice in the IPL before and he has conceded 71 off 34 deliveries, overall.
While both these batsmen have managed to score runs off Sandeep in the past, the pacer has had the last laugh more often than not by getting their respective prized wickets. Moreover, Sandeep seems to have worked on this flaw of his and in the current season, his economy rate has been very impressive as well.
Not only is Sandeep the best seamer for SRH in terms of economy rate, he is the most economical bowler in the IPL this season.
So, this will be an intriguing battle to watch out for within the big war as Kohli and De Villiers will look to improve their record against Sandeep while the SRH pacer will look for another good outing against two of the biggest hard-hitters that the game has ever seen.
