Players of all Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have started gearing up for the upcoming tournament. Some of the teams have begun assembling their players ahead of departure for the UAE, where IPL 2020 will be played.
Royal Challengers Bangalore leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal reached Bengaluru on Sunday. He is in quarantine in accordance with a rule that requires all players and officials to follow seven day self-isolation. Apart from Chahal, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini have arrived in Bengaluru.
RCB today posted a video of the leg spinner on Instagram in which Chahal can be seen having fun with officials standing at the door of his hotel room. The clip shows Chahal craving to go out of the room and asking the officials if he can walk for a very short distance.
The caption of the video reads, “‘Quarantine Yuzi’ has his countdown priorities sorted. Never a dull moment when @yuzi_chahal23 is around!”
According to InsideSport, RCB head coach Simon Katich and director of cricketing operations Mike Hesson during the one week quarantine will virtually hold discussions with players over team strategies for the 13th edition of IPL.
The three RCB players had to undergo COVID-19 test before reaching Bengaluru and they will be again tested before leaving for the UAE.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli is expected to land in the city in a few days.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have even started training before going to Dubai for the tournament.
IPL 2020 is scheduled to take place from September 19 to November 10.
