IPL 2021: Jasprit Bumrah's Best Performances Over the Years

Jasprit Bumrah is an essential in any T20 team. Make no mistake, it’s not Mumbai Indians that we are referring to. Be it any team. Had he been in Chennai Superkings he would have made a name there as well. Such is the instincts of this street-smart cricketer in the shortest format of the game. Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013. But he really peaked three years later in 2016 where he accounted for 15 wickets. In all likelihood, Bumrah is going to perform exceedingly well in the upcoming IPL too. But before that take a look at his best performance in the IPL over the years

4/14 vs Delhi Capitals (IPL 2020 Qualifier 1): It was a big occasion and boy, didn’t he deliver? Chasing a target of 201, Capitals were already 0/2, then came Bumrah and removed Shikhar Dhawan with a peach of a ball. Then he dismissed opposition skipper Shreyas Iyer. He also accounted for the top scorer of Capitals Marcus Stoinis who made 65 valuable runs. This was his best IPL figures till date.

20/3 vs RCB (IPL 2019): In another high-scoring thriller, Bumrah brought his A game to the fore. Mumbai edged RCB by 6 runs and the pacer was in the middle of it as he accounted for world’s best batsman Virat Kohli, Shimron Hetmyer and Kiwi Colin de Grandhomme.

3/15 vs KXIP (IPL 2018): In a high scoring thriller, Bumrah delivered the sucker punch for Mumbai. Punjab were in hot pursuit of Mumbai’s 187-run target. At one stage they were 145/1 and yet they fell short by 3 runs. Bumrah accounted for the wicket of Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis and top scorer KL Rahul for 94.

3/7 vs KKR (IPL 2017): A year later Bumrah dished out a miserly display of fast bowling at Eden Gardens. He accounted for a dangerous Chris Lynn, had Robin Uthappa trapped LBW and got rid of Suryakumar Yadav. Thanks to this spell, KKR were bowled out for 107 and MI marched into the final.

3/13 vs RCB (IPL 2016): A 23-year-old Bumrah set Wankhede on fire as he dismissed Shane Watson, Sarfaraz Khan and Stuart Binny. RCB were restricted to 170/7 and Mumbai hunted down that score to win the game with 12 balls to spare.
