IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians' Ishan Kishan Returns 'Home'After National Duty

The wicketkeeper-batsman will now look to make the most of the upcoming IPL for Mumbai Indians with the World T20 around the corner in India in October-November.

IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians' Ishan Kishan Returns 'Home'After National Duty

Ishan Kishan joined the Mumbai Indians camp after a successful stint with the Indian team in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against England, where he played two matches as India won the series 3-2 in Ahmedabad.

He was a key part in one of the three victories, where Kishan smashed a fifty on his debut to help India win the second T20I. Kishan scored 60 runs from two games with a highest of 56.

Taking to Instagram, MI shared a photo of the southpaw where he can be seen giving a thumbs up to the camera.

“Straight from national duty… He’s come home! Welcome, @ishankishan23 #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians,” MI captioned the post.

The 22-year-old has become an integral part of the MI franchise over the past couple of seasons with him playing 35 games since joining the franchise back in 2018 for a whopping INR 5.5 crore. Kishan scored 275 runs from 14 games in 2018 and 101 from 7 matches in the following season. However, he came on to his own in the previous season at the United Arab Emirates, where he smashed 516 runs from 14 games at an average of 57.33 and strike-rate of 145.76. He also smashed four fifties with a highest of 99.

Kishan’s brilliant display with the bat earned him a call-up for the England series and he didn’t disappoint there as well and entertained everyone with some delightful shot making.

The wicketkeeper-batsman will now look to make the most of the upcoming IPL for Mumbai Indians with the World T20 around the corner in India in October-November. A good performance again could seal his place in the squad for the mega event.

Mumbai Indians, who are the defending champions, will start their IPL 14 journey on April 9 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
