Shane Watson scored a sensational ton, scoring an undefeated 117 off just 57 balls as he helped Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad to win their third IPL title.
Watson proved his worth as his ton was also the highest score in an IPL final ever, eclipsing Wriddhiman Saha's 115 against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014.
Highest individual scores in IPL finals:
117* Shane Watson v SRH, 2018
115* Wriddhiman Saha vs KKR, 2014
94 M Pandey v KXIP, 2014

19 Boundaries by Watson was also the most ever in a final. This is Watson’s 5th T20, 4th IPL century and 2nd century of IPL 2018.
Before this match, Watson required 107 runs to reach 7000 T20 runs. He reached the milestone with a four off the last ball of the 17th over. Watson played a knock for the ages as he launched a vicious attack on the well-oiled Sunrisers bowling machinery to take the Yellow brigade home with 9 balls to spare.
Watson, who had taken eleven balls to get off the mark showed first signs of his big-hitting ability in the sixth over as he hit Sandeep for a six and a boundary off consecutive deliveries. Watson continued to push the run-rate in the next over as he hit Siddarth Kaul for a six over square leg.
