Kallis named captain for final Australia Test

Cricket South Africa decided to stand Ashwell Prince down as captain to allow him to concentrate as opener.

Durban: Veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis will captain South Africa in the absence of the injured Graeme Smith in the final Test against Australia in Cape Town.

Cricket South Africa announced on Wednesday that it had decided to stand Ashwell Prince down as captain to allow him to concentrate on his new position of opening batsman.

Prince is making a comeback to the side after missing the first two Tests and the series in Australia due to an injury.

Kallis also captained the Proteas in the final Test of the previous Australian tour to South Africa when Graeme Smith was injured.

South Africa have already lost the series 0-2.
