Even though rain washed away the first day of the warm-up tie against Cricket Australia XI, Virat Kohli and the Indian team decided to train in the gym. The Indian skipper posted a picture along with opener Murali Vijay, fast bowler Ishant Sharma and trainer Shankar Basu.
Kohli tweeted, saying "The rain doesn't seem to be going away so we decided to make something of our day. Gotta love a good workout with the boys. #makeeverydaycount"

With this being the only practice match for India ahead of the first Test against Australia in Adelaide from December 6, the visitors have been denied valuable preparation time. The weather forecast for the second day isn't promising either.
India's preparation could also be hit by the quality of the opposition as concerns remain over the standard of the CA XI side. Among the 12 players in the squad, only D'Arcy Short has played international cricket, that too in limited-overs formats. The board had the option of fielding players like Matthew Renshaw, Alex Doolan and Matthew Wade, who missed out on Test selection last week. However, eight of 12 members in the squad have played only a limited number of first-class matches.
