Lucky to Remain Great Friends with the Mother of My Child: Michael Clarke

Former Australian cricket team skipper Michael Clarke and Kyly Boldy announced in February that they had mutually decided to part ways. They had been married for seven years.

Five months after their split, Clarke recently talked about his relationship with his former wife and four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee.

The former captain on KISS 1065’s Kyle and Jackie O Show said that Kyly and his friendship is as strong as it’s ever been. He asserted, “I think I’m extremely lucky to have been able to go through a separation with the mother of my child and us still be great friends.”

The two co-parent their daughter. Clarke said that he and his ex-wife talk daily, adding that they always prioritise Kelsey.

The former cricketer stated that for him and Kyly their daughter’s best interests always come first.

Clarke said that his former wife and he were fortunate that news of their separation only surfaced in public after they had reached a consensus. He added that this helped them adjust to their new way of life.

Clarke, who led Australia to their fifth World Cup win in 2015, is currently dating fashion designer Pip Edwards, according to Fox Cricket.

Kyly in April divulged, in an interview with Kiss 1065, that she still saw Clarke everyday and not much has changed between them. She said that they were trying to keep a sense of normalcy for Kelsey.

She also asserted that she would not change her last name even after the split as they are still a family. So she writes her name as Kyly Clarke.
