Persistent rain mars CPL clash in Guyana

Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors picked up one point each from their CPL clash after it was abandoned due to rain.

Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors picked up one point each from their Caribbean Premier League clash at the Providence stadium after it was abandoned due to rain on Wednesday (July 15).

Persistent rain kept the pitch under covers and after a final look at the ground conditions at 20:55 local time, the match officials finally declared a washout.

With this result, Jamaica tied with St Lucia Zouks at nine points from as many matches and moved to second position with a superior net run-rate, while Guyana remained in fifth.

In the previous encounter between the two sides at Sabina Park in Kingston, Guyana had beaten Jamaica by a massive 84-run margin.
