England batsman Alex Hales took a jibe at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently. Seems like the cricketer was not very happy with the food he was served. Hales, a part of Islamabad United, is currently in the neighbouring country for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Taking a dig at the PSL organisers, Hales shared a photo of the breakfast meal he was offered. He took to his Instagram story to reveal his meal which comprised two eggs along with pieces of bread and an unopened serving of baked bean. He captioned it “Toast, omelette and baked beans”, as the player had ordered an omelette but was instead served two boiled eggs.
Hales Insta story was Tweeted by Pakistan Journalist Saj Sadiq who wrote that“It seems Alex Hales might not have been happy with the quality of food served to him at breakfast time during the PSL.”
However, reacting to the tweet, the English cricketer clarified that he posted the Insta story as he found it funny that he was served an incorrect food order. He asserted that it was just one incorrect order and mentioned that both the food and the hospitality in the PSL was excellent.
It was one meal where the order was incorrect.. I found it funny, nothing more. The food and hospitality here has been excellent, hope this clears it up 👍🏼— Alex Hales (@AlexHales1) March 4, 2021
Earlier, former Pakistan fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar had criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board for its handling of the league. He was critical of PCB for not including better-performing players in the team.
Coming back to the on-field action, the ongoing PSL was postponed on Thursday with immediate effect. After three more players from two different teams tested positive for Covid-19, the tally of positive cases became seven. The Pakistan Cricket Board cited the wellbeing and health of all participants as the reason to postpone the event. The call was made after consultation with the team owners. Only 14 games could be completed in the Pakistan Super League 2021.
