It was yet another eventful day at Ranji Trophy as a flashstrike from the groundstaff in Delhi forced the DDCA to hire workers from outside to prepare the ground for the game against Madhya Pradesh. It was no surprise when the wet outfield delayed the start.

Meanwhile, in the plate division, Manipur took a 19-run lead despite being dismissed for 85.

DDCA Workers Union Protest in Delhi

According to The Hindu, a flashstrike by the DDCA Workers Union forced curator Sunil Chauhan to take outside assistance to prepare the ground for the tie against Madhya Pradesh. The Union demanded the reinstatement of a member who was suspended by Justice (Retired) Vikramjit Sen's administration.

The play could only start at 11 am, and it was the home team which seized the advantage, thanks to Vikas Mishra's 6/41 which reduced Madhya Pradesh to 132/9 at Stumps.

40-year-old Debutant for Manipur

It was a great debut outing for Manipur's 40-year-old Iboma Singh as his side dismissed Arunachal Pradesh for 66. This was after Manipur were dismissed for 85 in the first innings. The latter were a bit more solid in the second innings, ending the day at 192/3.

Bista-Lad Shine for Mumbai

Opener Jay Bista slammed 127 off 150 balls to help Mumbai take early advantage but Saurashtra fought back with quick wickets. However, captain Siddhesh Lad and Shivam Dube put on an unbeaten 102-run stand to take Mumbai to 334/5 at stumps.

Bowlers Day Out

Overall, it was the fast bowlers who enjoyed a fruitful day, Bengal were struggling at 31/3 before Manoj Tiwari scored 90. Bengal ended the day at 190/6.

Haryana were 41/7, before captain Harshal Patel's unbeaten 53 helped them finish at 118. Aniket Choudhary was the star for Rajasthan, registering figures of 5/45.
