If Day 1 belonged to the bowlers, it was batsmen's turn to shine on Day 2 of the seventh round of Ranji Trophy.
Here are the major takeaways from Sunday:
Ton No.55 for Wasim Jaffer
Wasim Jaffer continued to be among the runs for Vidarbha. The 40-year-old struck his 55th first-class ton as Vidarbha reached 238/3, in reply to Gujarat's 321. They will be backing themselves to take the first innings lead and push for a result.
UP Pile on the Runs
Uttar Pradesh reached a massive 526/7, with centuries from three middle-order batsmen. Rinku Singh (149) and skipper Akshdeep Nath (106) scored fine tons while Priyam Garg registered a double-ton, scoring 206. Tripura were 33/4 in reply and are heading towards a massive defeat.
Avesh Khan, Anukul Roy Among Wickets
Two of India's former U-19 stars were among the wickets, with Avesh Khan reducing Delhi to 36/5 before 19-year-old Anuj Rawat came to his side's rescue with a quickfire 134. Delhi were dismissed for 261, with Khan picking 6/51. Madhya Pradesh ended the day at 7/0.
Anukul Roy picked up 4/66 and was well supported by Shahbaz Nadeem (3/29) as Jharkhand dismissed Services for 267. However, Jharkhand were 49/1 at stumps and will be looking to fightback.
Manipur Register Win in Plate
Manipur registered a comprehensive 112-run victory within two days, as Arunachal Pradesh were dismissed for 160. Hrithik Kanojia scored 91 and captain Yashpal Singh scored a half-century to help Manipur end at 253 in their second innings. Arunachal were again struggling at 86/9, but no.11 Deendyal Upadhyay scored a fine half-century to provide some respectability to the total.
