Ravindra Jadeja Becomes Second Fastest Indian to Reach 150 Test Wickets

New Delhi: Ace India spinner Ravindra Jadeja has added a new feather into his already illustrious cap as he became the second fastest Indian to take 150 wickets in the longest format of the game on Saturday.

Jadeja achieved this feat during Sri Lanka's first innings on the third day of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.

The left-arm spinner castled Dhananjaya de Silva on for a duck and with that, he rewrote the history books in spectacular style. de Silva became Jadeja's 150th Test scalp and he managed to take it in just his 32nd Test.

Only R Ashwin is ahead of Jadeja in this list as he took 150 wickets in just 29 Tests. The elite India list is as follows -

29 Ravichandra Ashwin

32 Ravindra Jadeja

34 Erapalli Prasanna/ Anil Kumble

35 Harbhajan Singh

36 BS Chandrasekhar

39 Kapil Dev

Meanwhile, Jadeja is the fastest left-arm spinner in the world to cross this milestone. Jadeja overtook the likes of Rangana Herath, Vinoo Mankad and Bishen Singh Bedi to sit pretty at the summit.

32 Ravindra Jadeja

40 Rangana Herath, Dereck Underwood, Vinoo Mankad, Tony Lock

41 Bishen Singh Bedi

Ravindra Jadeja has done well over the past couple of years to be regarded as one of the best spinners in the world. Jadeja is currently the number one ranked Test bowler in the world and with yet another sublime show in a match, he will only go from strength to strength.
