Sehwag to play first Abu Dhabi match

Abu Dhabi: Virender Sehwag will get another chance to lift his sagging fortunes as he has been included in the squad which will take on Pakistan in the first of the two-match cricket series.

The Indian vice-captain was dropped for the last game against England in Indore after he failed in all the previous six matches of the series.

However, middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif was not as lucky, being dropped for the second game in a row, a top team source said.

Others, who have been left out of the 12, were pacemen Rudra Pratap Singh and Munaf Patel.

The likely team to play the first match is: Virender Sehwag, Robin Uthappa, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Venugopal Rao/Ajit Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, Ramesh Powar, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth.
