With the India vs Australia Border Gavaskar series nearing completion, a fresh controversy around the contest has erupted.
Australia captain Steve Smith was caught on television camera hurling abuses to Indian opening batsman Murali Vijay.
Purportedly, the cameras caught him saying F****** Cheat.
The incident happened during the third day of the fourth and final Test in Dharamsala when Vijay, fielding in the slips, caught Josh Hazlewood for the final wicket during Australia’s second innings.
A couple of Australia journalists tweeted to shed more light on the incident.
Just to avoid confusion, the on-field umpires considered a referral to check whether the catch was clean or not.
However, Vijay was convinced that he had claimed a clean catch and left the field to pad up for the Indian innings.
The third umpire declared it not out and Indian team had to take back their positions again.
The Australian captain Smith was caught by television cameras mouthing the abusive words.
