Bates hit 24 boundaries and two sixes, supported by Maddy Green's 121 off just 77 balls. Jess Watkin scored a fine 62 and 17-year-old Amelia Kerr provided the finishing touches, smashing her way to 81 off just 45 balls.
Ireland's bowlers were on the suffering side, with 17-year-old Carra Murray conceding 119 runs from her 10 overs and picking just two wickets. A major blow was served to Ireland as their experienced spinner Isobel Joyce was barred from bowling after she bowled two beamers. Joyce conceded 13 runs from her only over.
