New Delhi: India skipper Virat Kohli is known to be a strong propagator of equality. In fact, he has often spoken about treating women respectfully. And in a new video for a watch brand he endorses, Kohli has once again asked men to behave like gentlemen and treat the ladies respectfully.

In the video, posted by Kohli on Twitter, he says: “This is your time Virat, that’s what they keep telling me. And sometimes, I think maybe it is. I used to feel proud then that I’ve become a man in this world who’s made it to the pages. But now, I’m only ashamed. Men of this world have forgotten how to behave with the ladies. And yet, while this world isn’t, time is fair and it belongs to all of us. So take it. This is your time. Be a gentleman.”

Kohli was in a good mood on Sunday after his team defeated Sri Lanka within four days and registered a convincing 304-run victory in Galle. Kohli took to Twitter and posted photos of himself with KL Rahul chilling in the swimming pool.

Kohli played a pivotal role in the game as he slammed his 17th Test ton in the second innings and it was also his 5th as skipper in overseas conditions. The Delhi dasher also completed his 1000 runs as skipper outside India in this match.

While KL Rahul couldn't play the match due to an illness, the Karnataka opener is expected to make a comeback into the team in the second game in place of Abhinav Mukund.

India registered a massive victory in the first game as R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja ensured that Sri Lanka's resistance was broken in the 77th over by Jadeja as he sent back Lahiru Kumara for a duck. While Ashwin finished with 3/65, Jadeja had figures of 3/71.

Injuries to Asela Gunaratne — first session of the opening day — and skipper Herath — while fielding on Friday — meant that the visitors needed to pick just 8 wickets in the second essay to end the game and they did that with aplomb after Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav used the new ball to great effect.
