Even as the race for the next India coach gets hotter with former team director Ravi Shastri now throwing his hat in the ring, Sehwag is unperturbed and is busy having fun with his fans and followers.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially extended the timeline for submission of applications for the post of the head coach of the Indian cricket team to July 9.
Five candidates had applied for the job — former India opener Sehwag, Afghanistan coach Lalchand Rajput, Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, former Pakistan coach Richard Pybus and former India pacer Doda Ganesh. These names were short-listed to be interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
The race was supposed to be between these candidates and Anil Kumble before the latter declined to take a two-week extension and ruled himself out of the running, the BCCI then decided to call for more applications.
