Bangalore: Graham Ford and John Embury may have been shortlisted for interviews, but former Indian great Gundappa Viswanath's name is doing the rounds as a probable batting coach.

Viswanath told CNN-IBN that the national team can have multiple coaches.

"I am always willing to help the Indian cricket team. There is no harm in having multiple coaches for specialised jobs," Viswanath said in Bangalore on Wednesday.

Former England off-spinner John Emburey, who is being considered for the post along with former South Africa coach Graham Ford, also expressed his desire to take up the demanding role.

"I am honoured to be considered for the job. India has the most talented pool of players. My target will be to bring India at par with Australia," Emburey told CNN-IBN.
