Ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 edition, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has taken the internet by a storm in a monk avatar. Dhoni’s new look is for a TVC for this year’s IPL by Star Sports – the official broadcaster of the league. Ithasreleased a few TV commercials on Sunday.

The former Indian captain’s popularity is unsurmountable, and his every movement is closely monitored by his fans globally. The videos were a big hit among Dhoni’s fans and they also hit the right chord among the IPL fans. While Dhoni’s new look continues to be a talking point which drew quite a bit of chatter on social media.

Former India opener Wasim Jaffer,who is one of the most active people on social media and is equally famous for sharing funny posts, was up with another gem on the microblogging site when he shared his reaction to Dhoni’s monk avatar. Jaffer’s tweet comes after Wisden India’s official Twitter account urged fans to caption Dhoni’s monk look.Jaffer’s response was epic. As Dhoni was seen with a shaved head look, Jaffer’s quirkiness came to the fore and he commented, ‘Thalai Lama.’ Dhoni is called ‘Thala’ by CSK fans, which in Tamil means a leader.

Jaffer has created a niche for himself by sharing hilarious memes while giving his views or commenting on the trending topics on the game. He is currently the batting coach for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the IPL.

Meanwhile, Dhoni will once again be seen in action in the upcoming IPL 2021 edition. In the previous edition of the IPL, the three-time champions CSK had a forgetful season and will be eager to make a strong comeback.

The 14th edition of the IPL will be held in India from April 9 to May 30.
