Melbourne: The West Indies' disastrous tour of Australia suffered a further blow with leg spinner Devendra Bishoo suffering a shoulder injury on the first morning of the second Test in Melbourne on Saturday. (West Indies Consider Bringing in Devendra Bishoo For Boxing Day Test)

Bishoo fell heavily while fielding during practice and was sent to hospital for scans on his left shoulder as the first session of the Boxing Day Test got underway.

The legspinner had been in line for a return to the Windies side but his continued tour participation was in doubt with team officials fearing he may have damaged his rotator cuff.

The Windies made one change to the team that crashed to an innings defeat in the first Test in Hobart, with allrounder Carlos Brathwaite earning his Test debut in place of injured quick Shannon Gabriel.

Gabriel was forced out of the tour with an ankle injury and was replaced by uncapped pace bowler Miguel Cummins.
