IPL 2017: Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan Celebrate First Win in Special Style

New Delhi: Yuvraj Singh rolled back the years in typical Yuvi-style as he produced a match-winning knock to guide defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad to a big win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday.

Yuvi blasted a 27-ball 62 as Hyderabad began their title defense with a comfortable 35-run victory over last-year's finalists — Bangalore — at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad.

The 23-ball half century was Yuvi's fastest in the IPL while his first for SRH.

A day after Yuvi's assault, teammate Shikhar Dhawan posted a picture on social media where the 'Orange Army' was seen celebrating their statement-making victory with a cake, specially made for Yuvraj. Dhawan's twitter post read: "Celebration time..... #GoGoGo #OrangeArmy @SunRisers"

After guiding his team to victory, Yuvraj said that he is playing with more freedom since making a comeback into the India national team. Hyderabad skipper David Warner too praised the star Indian all-rounder and hoped that Yuvraj continues his glorious form in the league.

"That's the Yuvi that I am used to watching on TV. It was superb stroke and clean hitting play from him, he backed himself. That's the way that we know he can play and that's the way that we want him to keep playing," Warner said at the post match press conference late on Wednesday night.

"If he can do that another five or six times in the tournament we will easily make the final and can also win," he added.
