As captain of the team for a full series for the first time, Kohli smashed 197 runs in five ODIs on the 2013 tour of Zimbabwe, including a century and a fifty. India swept the series 5-0.
In the same 2013 tri-series, captain Kohli scored 102 off 83 balls. India defeated Sri Lanka in the final to win the triangular series.
MS Dhoni and some other senior players were rested during India's tour of Zimbabwe in 2013. In Dhoni's absence, Kohli was given the honour to lead Team India.
