Profile

An attacking left-arm spinner is a rarity these days as wider willows, smaller grounds, limited overs rules has changed the way spin was initially seen as, and the way it's portrayed now. Ashton Agar comes across as those types who do not mind giving the ball some air even when the batsman takes the attack to him.

Agar made his first-class debut for New South Wales, replacing the spinner, Michael Beer. At a very tender age of 19, with an experience of just 2 first class matches, Agar was plucked from nowhere to join the Australia squad for their tour to India in 2013 where he got an extension to his internship to gain some experience from the senior squad.
