WATCH | Kohli Handled Bumrah & Bhuvneshwar Well in Chase: Kumble

Cricketnext Staff | June 10, 2019, 2:13 AM IST

Former India captain and head coach Anil Kumble analyses the game between India and Australia in the ICC World Cup 2019.

Talking about the game, Kumble felt that things didn't go Australia's way as is required when the pitch is flat and good to bat. Warner failed to score as freely as he usually does and also the run out of Aaron Finch cost the team, considering his ability to tackle spin. The weak fielding also cost Australia about 20-30 runs and helped India push to 352. He also questioned the decision to send in Usman Khawaja ahead of Steve Smith, which ultimately meant Australia had two players of similar nature on the crease.

Kumble praised Kohli's captaincy, saying his decision to hold back Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah proved to be a wise one in the end as Australia struggled to get them away in the death.
