Mumbai: The Indian team for the Tri - nation series in Sri Lanka will be named on Thursday in Mumbai.
And one man who will be hoping to take his place on that plane to the island will be Ramesh Powar.
The off-spinner who was called the find of the season by the national selectors is a man on a mission.
After being criticised for being overweight, Ramesh is now working hard on his fitness and trying hard to lose the extra flab.
"I have been accused of being fat, so I am training hard to lose some weight," says Ramesh.
Ramesh scored a mere 13 runs and took 4 wickets in the 3 one day matches that he played in the West Indies - a performance that earned him a place in the Test squad.
But ramesh is far from satisfied.
"I would say my performance is average, would like to perform better," he says.
Like most Mumbaikars, Ramesh has been shaken by the 7/11 blasts. "I was in Dadar when I heard of the blast it was really bad to see them."
But for now he is trying hard to put those memories behind him and focus on the job at hand - to deliver the goods for Team India in Sri Lanka.
