Mumbai: CNN-IBN spoke to former Indian batsman Gundappa Vishwanath, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award after the function wrapped up.

Gundappa Vishwanath: The names which are already there (who have achieved BCCI's Lifetime Achievement Award) and now my name is associated with them: I feel proud and it's a great moment for me. I won't forget this ever. It's a great achievement just to be among all those names.

CNN-IBN: Please take us back through some of the special moments in your career.

Gundappa Vishwanath: I scored a duck in my first Test innings, so naturally I was disappointed. I thought if I didn't score in the second innings, I might not play for India again. Fortunately I got another chance in the second innings and I scored a hundred. That really proved me going further. That was one of the best hundreds I scored.

CNN-IBN: What do you make of the side led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and what do you see of his captaincy?

Gundappa Vishwanath: He is really doing well. Most of the time we have spoken about the lack of consistency in Indian teams. But this team is doing that. They are winning matches more often than before. I'm sure they will come out with flying colours.
