Indian skipper Virat Kohli's 225-ball 149 on day two ensured that the team stays in hunt in the first Test against England in Edgbaston. After dismissing England for 287, Indian batsmen faltered in tough conditions yet again. But Kohli along with the lower-order fought hard to take India to a safe position. Speaking at the post-match conference India's batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that Kohli showed great discipline to score a ton in tough conditions and that the match is evenly poised at the moment. England fast bowler Sam Curran, who bagged four wickets in the innings, felt that the conditions were conducive for bowling and they had done well to restrict India to 274.
