India is playing a three-day warm up match against Essex as their only practice game ahead of the Test series in England currently. While the team has been in England for a while playing ODIs and T20s and other players have played county cricket, there hasn’t been too much exposure against the red ball. In fact, in South Africa, where India lost the first two Tests to concede the series, the lack of practice matches was widely regarded as one of the reasons for their failure to adjust to the conditions.
