India made short work of the touring West Indies team and beat them convincingly by 10 wickets at Hyderabad. At the start of the day three, the match wasn't totally out of Windies' reach, but some shoddy batting took the game away from them. Their second innings didn't even last 50 overs. News18 Group Editor Sports Gaurav Kalra feels that this performance has shown that Windies batting is hugely deficient at the moment. Kalra also spoke about how Umesh Yadav could be a serious contender for a playing XI spot in Australia, after his match-winning 10-wicket haul against Windies. Kalra highlighted the performances by Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav, which are a big positive before the series Down Under.
