Thursday, February 8, 2018, Bonhams will be selling no fewer than 135 collectors' cars dating from 1904 to 2017, as part of its prestigious annual auction at the Grand Palais in Paris. One unusual model is a 1961 Corvette signed by some of Hollywood's biggest stars of the moment.
This Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, purchased at a charity event, has the signatures of 20 Hollywood stars on its dashboard: Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, Orlando Bloom, Adrien Brody, Matt Damon, Benicio Del Toro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr, Jamie Foxx, Tom Hardy, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sean Penn, Brad Pitt, Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Channing Tatum, Charlize Theron, Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon. Its value is estimated at €85,000 to €120,000.
Several cars could pass the symbolic one million euro mark at this auction, such as a 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400/S (estimated at €1.2-€1.4 million), a 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Tourist Trophy Torpedo (€780,000-€1.3M) and a 1957 Mercedes Benz 300 SLS (€900,000-€1.2M).
All of the models going under the hammer will go on display at the French capital's Grand Palais exhibition center, Wednesday and Thursday, February 7 and 8, before the sale starts at 2pm.
