Harley-Davidson University is based at Capital Harley-Davidson dealership situated in Gurugram and it is the fourth such set up made by Harley-Davidson in the Asia Pacific region. The university is meant to train the service engineers of Harley by not only conducting classroom sessions but also giving hands-on sessions on the actual engine itself. It will also offer courses ranging from management to finance and branding. But Harley had something different planned for us – as we were supposed to dismantle an engine and then put it back in one piece. The engine in question was the Milwaukee-Eight 107.

We were also given a peek into the history of Harley-Davidson engines and also insights into the technicalities of how an engine works and how one should go about dismantling it. And our mentor for all of this was John McEnaney - Regional Lead, Technical Support Asia Pacific for Harley-Davidson.

The process of dismantling and reassembling an engine spanned over two days and had a lot of challenges and learnings to offer. Watch the video below to see how it went.
