When it comes to sedans in under Rs 15 lakh, then the Honda City is one of the first cars to come to mind. It is also one of the best-sellers by the Japanese automaker in India and they are set to launch the Honda City facelift on February 14.
The company has shared teasers of the new Honda City wherein it says that the bookings for the car have begun.
The launch comes at a time when its competition, like the Skoda Rapid, has got several updates since the current-generation City’s launch.
Its rival, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, is also expected to get a facelift this year.
On the outside, the City takes inspiration from Honda Civic. The headlamps have tweaked and now house LED daytime running lamps. The front bumper has been restyled as well, with more prominent divisions for the front air dam and fog lamp housings.
At the rear, it gets the addition of a tailgate-mounted spoiler, along with tweaked taillamps with LED inserts.
The new car is expected to retain the same power source - 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. It could, however, receive a revised suspension and a raised suspension setup to cope better with the Indian road conditions.
Other additions to the car include 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, electric sunroof, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, six airbags, LED tail lamps, LED fog lamps and an engine start-stop system as well.
