For decades, it's been hard to think of many cars in the automotive world more exclusive than a Rolls Royce. But for some, even a "regular" Rolls Royce isn't exclusive enough, and that's why we're starting to see a number of one-off models such as the current Rolls-Royce Wraith ‘Inspired by British Music' collaborations, announced last December. Hot on the heels of offering another one-off in the shape of its Dawn Mayfair Edition, London dealer H.R. Owen is now displaying for sale a Rolls Royce Wraith commissioned by legendary Who lead vocalist Roger Daltrey.

The Who frontman worked with the designers and CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös at the British luxury manufacturer's global centre of excellence in Goodwood to choose all manner of bespoke design elements to produce what has to be the ultimate collector's car.

Of course, if the car was just personalised to the taste of the Who vocalist it could have been seen as just another uber-luxurious car, but there are genuine elements in evidence here that will make this particularly appealing to well-heeled fans of the iconic British rock band. For example, there's The Who's famous bullseye logo and even a laser-etched image of Daltrey performing his iconic microphone swing.

The 'Inspired by British Music' series will comprise nine special Wraith models in total; two of which will have been inspired by Daltrey. As well as this one based on The Who iconography, Daltrey has also helped to produce another car celebrating the band's classic 1969 album, "Tommy."

Daltrey said of his efforts, "I am enormously excited at the prospect of raising vital funds and awareness for The Teenage Cancer Trust in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, a true British icon. The themes, so perfectly expressed by the Rolls-Royce designers in this car, are as relevant today as they were when we first performed them. I worked hard with the designers to capture the spirit of our songs and what their lyrics mean to fans of all generations. I'm certain the car will serve as the ultimate collector's piece."

Other models in this very special edition include cars inspired by Sir Ray Davies of the Kinks, Dame Shirley Bassey, Status Quo guitarist Francis Rossi and the Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood. The songwriter and producer Giles Martin has also helped to produce one in honour of his late father George Martin, who was so inspirational and so intrinsic to the early success of Beatles.
