Tata Motors has rolled out the first batch of its upcoming SUV, Nexon which is locally produced in Tata’s Ranjangaon facility. Unveiled at Geneva Motor Show this year, Nexon is designed at Tata Motors’ in-house facility in Pune. For the new Nexon, the company has added two new engines to its powertrain portfolio – the 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq family.
The Revotron petrol engine will be manufactured at the Sanand facility and will churn out 108 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. The Revotorq diesel engine will be produced at the Ranjangaon facility and the 4 cylinder engine will churn out 108 bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque.
The car will offer three driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. Both the engines on the new Tata Nexon will be paired to the 6-speed TA6300 synchromesh with overdrive manual transmission.
From the safety perspective, the car is expected to have front dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control. Inside, the car is expected to have advanced touchscreen infotainment system designed by Harman and Kardon.
Nexon is scheduled for launch this festive season when launched it will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport.
