The Thunderbird LT is a tourer friendly version of the existing Thunderbird Storm.

Mumbai: Triumph which launched 11 motorcycles in India earlier this year, has added one more model to its lineup. The Thunderbird LT is a tourer friendly version of the existing Thunderbird Storm. It is priced at Rs 15.75 lakh, ex-Delhi.

The British company has added lots of chome for the Thunderbird LT (Light Tourer) to appeal to the tourers. There are spoke wheels with white wall radial tyres. Then there is the taller windscreen, smart leather saddlebags and two auxiliary lamps. The pillion gets a backrest as well. Triumph says that the saddlebags can hold up to 26 litres of luggage. The 22-litre fuel tank ensures that riders can go the extra mile before needing a refuel. Triumph has also added an electronic immobiliser to the equation.

Powering the Triumph Thunderbird LT is a 1699cc parallel twin engine which makes 94PS and 151Nm of torque. This is infact the world's largest parallel twin engine on any production motorcycle. The final drive is via a belt and the LT uses a six-speed gearbox. Similar to the Rocket III roadster, a 150 section tyre is available on the Thunderbird LT while the rear gets a 180 section.

Triumph India claims to have delivered 837 motorcycle so far and the company has about eight functional dealerships. Two new dealerships will be added in Kolkata and Chandigarh respectively by the end of this year.
