Hachette publishing house announced the upcoming release of a new Robert Galbraith novel in the month of June, 2014. The Silkworm, as the novel has been titled, is the second novel by Galbraith with Cormoran Strike as the lead, followed by his young assistant, Robin Ellacott.

The book revolves around the sudden disappearance of Owen Quine, a novelist. After his wife begins to suspect that there is more to the disappearance than the writer taking off for a few days by himself, she calls Strike to investigate the disappearance.

The plot thickens when it is found out that the novelist had been working on a new novel, in which he has written a few blatantly honest pen-portraits of some people. As strike realizes the repercussions the new novel might have had, he also realizes that there are many who would go to any lengths to ensure that the book remain unpublished.

When Owen Quine is found murdered, Strike has to put all his energy and resources into catching a particularly clever and meticulous killer. A fast-paced crime novel with very intelligently places twists in the plot, The Silkworm promises to deliver a classic whodunit to the readers.

Robert Galbraith is JK Rowling's pseudonym, under which she has written The Cuckoo's Calling, which was about the mysterious death of a model. The novel also introduced us to Cromoran Strike, who takes up investigation to support his monetary situation, but gets pulled into the intrigue of the situation as the plot thickens with every new discovery he makes. Strike is introduced to us as a wounded war veteran, still reeling from the deep psychological scars such an experience leaves behind. And with The Silkworm on its way, Robert Galbraith promises to not let the readers down.
