The woman, a resident of Bararankua village in the East Midnapore district of Bengal, printed an advertisement on newspaper saying from March 1, she would be known by her new name of 'Supreme Imperium'.

A woman from West Bengal has triggered a series of queries and reactions on social media after she put in an affidavit in a newspaper informing the changing of her name from Anamika Mazumder to ‘Supreme Imperium’. Although Anamaika’s act of changing her name isn’t uncommon, its the choice of the new moniker that has netizens questioning and commenting on the unique choice. The woman, a resident of Bararankua village under Ramnagar police station in the East Midnapore district posted the affidavit saying from March 1, she would be known by her new name of ‘Supreme Imperium’.

“Henceforth, I recognised and known as Supreme Imperium instead of Anamika Mazumder,” read a part of the advertisement in the newspaper. The woman’s unusual choice of name and the advertisement have both gone viral on the internet now.

The advertisement also caused a lot of amusing reactions from social media users who tried to find a raesona s to why would someone want to name themselves as ‘Supreme Imperium’.

One user, however thought maybe the woman had probably messed up while filling forms for the name of her company and the proprietor. So instead of going through the tedious process of renaming her company, she is renaming herself instead.

Someone else thought the formerly named Anamika might be playing the ‘Truth and Dare’ game with someone.

Well, whatever be it, we can only hope ‘Supreme Imperium’ is pleased with her name change!
