Actor Bobby Deol recently grabbed the headlines when he announced his plans to turn DJ. While only a handful were surprised with his decision, the announcement left many shocked.
And since he had decided to begin his second innings as a DJ (according to a report in Hindustan Times), he was recently hired by a high-end club in Delhi, the tickets 500 of which were sold out in advance. Reportedly, the tickets were sold for Rs 2,500 to 4,000.
Since actor Bobby Deol was the DJ for the night, people had high hopes and bought the tickets to get a glimpse of the actor as well as enjoy his choice of music. But guess what? DJ Bobby began playing the signature melody of his movie Gupt which was released in 1997. And to everyone's frustration and anger, he kept playing songs from the movie throughout the night.
A source present at the DJ night told Hindustan Times, “It was a sold out event for Bobby’s opening act. Bobby began the night with the signature melody of his popular 1997 thriller Gupt, and kept playing tracks from the movie on loop throughout the party, which continued into the wee hours of the morning.”
As per reports, guests started demanding a refund as soon as the party ended. The music wasn't as per their expectation and of course they felt there money had been wasted. However, before the commotion began, the DJ for the night, Bobby, had already left the venue.
But people on social media immediately responded to the development. While some were quick to note that his new gig as a DJ wasn't any better than his stint as an actor, others came in to lend support.
People demanded refunds of the gig where Bobby Deol was the DJ, so his new career is going on the same track where the previous one ended.— Sand-d Singh (@Sand_In_Deed) August 25, 2016
I'd rather pay to watch DJ Viju Shah over DJ Bobby Deol.— Venkat (@zuckerzerg) August 25, 2016
People don't ask for refunds when Virat Kohli fails, why to ask when Bobby Deol played Gupt songs 😂😛— Tausif Mulla (@FunTaus) August 25, 2016
People are harsh on Bobby Deol, Gupt's songs are great. Duniya haseeno ka mela mele mei ye dil akela is the anthem of every engg. student.— Pakchikpak Raja Babu (@HaramiParindey) August 25, 2016
I don't understand why people are complaining about DJ Bobby Deol playing Gupt songs. That sounds like my idea of a good time.— Rashmi Daryanani (@tehrashminator) August 25, 2016
We hope for some better music next time DJ Bobby!
