Actress and UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson, in honor of International Women's Day on 8 March, 2015 took to Facebook to advocate for men and women joining together in the fight for gender equality.
Watson, last year made a speech at the United Nations in September and it was widely praised. It also marked the launch of the 'HeForShe' campaign.
In this hour long conversation that was live-streamed on Facebook, Watson addresses the issues surrounding gender equality. She talks about how feminism is a positive force and should not be related to man-hatred. Her idea is that if anyone helps the cause of gender equality, that person automatically becomes a feminist. She talks about the gender inequality that men face too and how that can be tackled.
Relating to personal experiences to those of friends' family's and fans', Emma Watson helps start a dialogue on how we can take a step further towards the expulsion of misogyny and misandry from society.
