The Street food craze is a huge market in itself where customers are charmed with innovative and new ideas and tricks. Now, showmanship is as important as the food on the platter as it helps attract customer’s attention first and makes you stand out from the rest. One must have heard of Turkish ice cream carts where they serve ice-cream doing their unique tricks, or flying paranthas in Delhi or more recently flying dosa from a Mumbai eatery that caught people’s attention. As these videos and eateries went viral online, many are taking this approach to learn quirky new tricks and increase their sale. Another video has gone viral on social media from a Mumbai food stall where the unique style of making vada pav is making headlines. The video was shot at Bora Bazar Street, Mangesh Shenoy Street, Fort in Mumbai where a food stall named Raghu Dosa Wala is quite famous for serving south Indian snacks.
The stall, running for the last 64-years, has caught eyeballs for its unique way of making vada pav where Raghu flings the vadas in the air with a spatula and then catches it with his other hand. The trick is done so quickly that you might miss it if you blink. The 6-minute-long food vlog titled; ‘Flying Vada of Mumbai’ shared on YouTube by Aamchi Mumbai will make your mouth water with the buttery vada pav.
The video starts with audiences being introduced to the food stall and then we Raghu prepping to make his popular vada pav as he melts a whole chunk of butter and mixes it with a spice mix. Then we see him tossing the vadas with a spatula, catching it with other hands and stuffing them inside buttery pavs, loading it with veggies such as onion, capsicum, beetroot and cabbage and topping it with cheese and masalas. And what makes this deal even more catchy is the price, these delicious snacks are sold just for Rs 15.
The video posted on March 20 has gathered almost 350,000 views and 300 comments from netizens showing their love from all over India and some from Pakistan.
