India Without Alcohol—Twitterati Imagines A Dry, Not High, Country
Soon after Nitish Kumar’s words, Twitter started a hashtag--#IfAlcoholWereBanned. People on Twitter are trying to imagine a country where alcohol is banned and predicting how life would be like.
After banning alcohol in Bihar, Nitish Kumar now wants all the other states to follow. We don’t know if the CMs of other states took Kumar seriously, but Twitter definitely did.
“You may say I'm a dreamer… But I'm not the only one… I hope some day you'll join us… And the world will be as one,” this could in fact become the Bihar Chief Minister’s slogan for his next election campaign.
Kumar has a dream. After banning alcohol in his state, he now wants all the other states to follow. On Sunday, the CM pitched for a nationwide ban on alcohol, and asked party activists to raise awareness among people about the ill effects of liquor consumption. “When Gujarat could implement liquor ban, Bihar could show that it could also be banned in the state, why it cannot be banned in the entire country?” Kumar said addressing a party event.
