In a country where Mahatma Gandhi preached the idea of non-violence, our politicians' "gundagardi" is no longer rare.

In yet another incident, a BJP leader from Jharkhand was caught on camera abusing and assaulting a transport officer. And, this was all because the officer simply did his job. The incident took place in the state's Latehar district.

BJP leader Rajdhani Yadav got into an argument with the District transport officer over the removal of a nameplate from his personal car. Soon, as can be seen in the video, Yadav lost his cool and started slapping and abusing the officer. However, Yadav was later arrested for his shameless behaviour.

If reading the above made you angry, then hold on. Here, we have listed a number of politicians who lost their calm, and was violent to people who were doing their jobs.

1- Shivraj Singh Chouhan slaps bodyguard

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Tuesday, lost his temper, for reasons best known to him, and slapped his bodyguard during a rally in state's Sardarpur town.

2- Cong MLA slaps policewoman

In December, Asha Kumari, a Congress MLA from Dalhousie was caught slapping a woman constable, who was trying to stop her from entering into a Rahul Gandhi event in Shimla. But to everyone's surprise, this time it was not just the politician who decided to show-off her power, the woman constable returned the favour with equal fervour.

3- Shiv Sena MP slaps Air India staff

Year 2017 witnessed several disgraceful incidents, among them was the one where Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad hit an Air India employee with his footwear for not being allotted a business class seat on an all economy flight. The incident ignited country-wide debate on the VVIP culture in the country.

4- Congress MLA Suresh Lad slaps deputy collector

Suresh Lad, Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Karjat in Raigad district, in 2016 came into the limelight for slapping a deputy collector and an employee of a private firm over the issues of the land acquisition for a gas pipeline project.

5- BJP MLA's husband thrashes police officer over issuance of challan

We have often heard of cases where relatives of so-called powerful politicians threaten people with dire consequences. In 2017, in a similar incident, Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Chandra Kanta Meghwal's husband thrashed a police officer for issuing challan to a party worker's vehicle.

6- Maharashtra BJP Legislator slaps cop inside police station

In August 2016, yet another police constable had to bear the tantrums of an "out-of-hand" politician. Ramchandra Avsare, a BJP legislator in Maharashtra, slapped a police constable inside police station in front of several other officers. The constable has had an argument with one of Avsare's drivers regarding a bike rally.

7- SP MLC's nephew slaps police officer

Boasting about his political connections, Samajwadi Party MLC Ramesh Yadav's nephew was caught on camera bragging about his association with the party. He later slaps and abuses a cop standing near him. "My name is Mohit Yadav...," the accused kept saying.

8- Maharashtra state legislators beat police officer for 'misbehaving'

In a shocker from 2013, a group of MLAs beat up a policeman for "misbehaving" with fellow legislator Kshitij Thakur. The victim had reportedly fined Thakur for over-speeding. And if this was not enough, the victim was later suspended by the Maharashtra police citing his language was "not worthy of a police officer".

Did no one tell our netas that "with power comes great responsibilities"? And, this doesn't look responsible to us in the very least.
