A wicketkeeper-batsman from Jharkhand playing for India and showing no mercy to the bowlers reminded cricket fans of the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni when they saw Ishan Kishan bat during the second T20I against England on Sunday. Kishan, playing his first T20I in the Indian jersey, smacked 56 off 32 balls helping India chase down England’s score of 165 with ease. After KL Rahul’s early departure for a six-ball duck, the young gun who had shown a lot of promise in the IPL, took matters into his own hands with the skipper Virat Kohli standing tall at the other end.
Kishan’s superb 56 was studded with five boundaries and four maximums as he brought the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium on their feet.
Seeing him bat fearlessly reminded cricket fans of the veteran MSD who also hails from Jharkhand and kept wickets for the team.
“This has happened before," was the collective thought that was shared on microblogging site Twitter by multiple users including Virender Sehwag.

Kishan’s knock, along with Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 73, guided India to a seven-wicket win that helped India level the series 1-1.
Meanwhile, Kishan dedicated his knock to his coach’s father, who passed away recently.
“I had a lot of hunger in me for this innings. My coach’s dad passed away a few days back and this innings was for him. I wanted to prove myself because he said you have to score at least fifty for my Dad. So I want to dedicate this knock to him,” he said.
Kishan also credited his seniors, especially his experience at Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
