The Internet is having a hard time to wrap its head around that necklace ( or the cord).

How far will you go for the love of fashion? An Italian luxurious brand seems to know no bounds when it comes to sell fashion. Bottega Veneta turned heads when it sold a necklace for $2000. While people pay even more for necklaces, this one essentially looked like a telephone cord. A telephone cord for $2,000? The Internet is having a hard time to wrap its head around that necklace. Diet Prada, a fashion watchdog, shared the image of the necklace on its Instagram handle and created quite a stir with people responding hilariously to it. The fashion watchdog took a dig on the necklace saying actual telephone cords just cost $5.

The post has been going viral with some being irked by the product and others tickling the funny bone. American fashion designer Natalia Fedner expressed her displeasure with the ‘overpriced’ necklace and wrote, “I cannot. I know so many designers and artisans who work their hands to the bone, spend weeks on a single piece, make it from expensive materials – And charge less than this. Prices like this on cheap items, just because there’s a famous brand name attached, is pretty insulting to those of us who put so much effort into our handmade pieces. 5 minutes of their labor = 2 weeks of ours.”

One netizen hilariously remarked, “They are really just reaching into the junk drawer eyes closed and slapping 2k on whatever comes out.”

Earlier, Italian fashion house Gucci decided to have a rather quirky and unusual inclusion in their sunglasses range. For reasons best known to the designers, the brand called the accessory ‘Inverted Cat Eye sunglasses’ and yes it is made to look as if upside down, for real. This should not sound so unfamiliar as products that emerge from the vast world of fashion, often give rise to basic questions like, “But Why?”
