English pacer Jofra Archer broke his bat during the 20th over bowled by Shardul Thakur in the fourth T20I against India at Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.

Jofra Archer’s eerie prophesies have a fanbase of their own. The English pacer has a tweet for everything– including an old post for his broken bat in the fourth T20I against India on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. From “predicting” the Super Over in 50 over 2019’s Cricket World Cup Final to prophesying Narendra Modi’s 21-day curfew for coronavirus pandemic to knowing all along that Joe Biden would be US’s next President, the bowler “supernatural” abilities are often at display on the microblogging site Twitter and the previous night was no different. Shardul Thakur, on Thursday, turned the T20I on its head by picking up dangerous-looking Ben Stokes and Eoin Morgan on consecutive deliveries of the 17th over.

England’s challenge of 186 target put up by India still did not come to an end as Chris Jordan and Jofra Archer took the game deep. The visitors even needed 10 off 3 at one stage when Archer bottom-edged the fourth delivery of the final over. With the broken bat, England’s chances of clinching the series on the night came to an end but the broken willow was enough to bring one of Archer’s old tweets back to life.

Dated March 7, 2018, Archer had simply tweeted: “Any good bat repair people in the uk ?”

Twitterati were amused and understandably so.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who got off the mark in international cricket with a six over fine leg, hit three sixes and smashed six fours. He followed his Mumbai Indians teammate Ishan Kishan to score a half-century on debut. Kishan achieved the feat in the second T20 International on March 14.

Yadav was awarded Player of the Match for his fantastic knock. With Thursday’s win, India has tied the T20I series with England at 2-2. with one more contest to go.
