Charlotte Gardner was 13 when she had to leave her house and beloved bedroom and move to a new home, away from Glasgow, Scotland. But before leaving, she wanted to make sure that the new owners took good care of her room. So, she wrote them a letter.

"I lived in this house for 11 years and this was my bedroom... I am moving out in two days on Friday and I am really upset and sad. Look after my house for me," she wrote in the letter that she left under her room's carpet.

Who knew, 11 years later, Martin Johnstone, the new owner of the house, would find a letter that Gardner had written in 2007.

Martin found the letter when he decided to redecorate his son's childhood bedroom and ripped up the old carpet, BBC reported.

Speaking to BBC, Martin said: "My first thought was 'Gosh, that's amazing. It's the sort of letter many of us may have written if we've ever moved house at that sort of age, then probably forget all about. It's just such a lovely thing."

Impressed by the finding, the new owner decided to track down the writer. He then posted pictures of the handwritten letter on Twitter and waited for the magic to happen. Trust the power of the Internet, the letter somehow made its way to Charlotte and she thanked Martin for taking her back to her childhood days.

"Lifting carpet in spare bedroom this afternoon and came across this. made our day. anyone know where Charlotte is today?"

In a few hours, Gardner replied to Martin's post.

"It seems your post made its way to me. What a lovely suprise waking up this morning to see this. I currently live in Bath and have for 9 years now. I have such fond memories of that flat in Glasgow. I hope you have loved it as much as I did. Thank you Martin :)" Gardner replied.

However, Martin had the least hope of finding the owner of the letter. But isn't social media just amazing!
