Mothers can pull off almost anything if it is going to bring a smile to their child’s face. An Indian mother made a beautiful gajra for her daughter using tissue paper. Yes, as unbelievable as it may sound, this is real. The elderly mom experienced joint pain due to sitting for hours, however, she created the tissue paper gajra which looks exactly like a floral gajra.
Twitter user named Surekha posted the picture of the hair accessory on her handle and shocked users when she told that the beautiful gajra was made out of tissue paper.
She also posted a video of herself wearing the gajra to show ‘how pretty it is.’ Surekha said that this mom-made gajra smells lovelier than all the other flowers she has put in her hair.

The materials used to create the white coloured gajra surprised Twitter users. A person named Almas commented that Surekha’s mother has the magic touch. She said that the mother’s creativity has put life in the lifeless.

Many others thought that the flowers were real as they look fresh in the pictures. A user Deepa Sharma said that if Surekha had not mentioned that the gajra was made out of tissue paper, she would have not been able to guess that those weren’t real flowers. Expressing admiration for her creativity, Deepa called Surekha’s mother an amazing artist.

Tasnim, another commenter, shared an anecdote about these artificial flowers. She said that in the early ‘80s, a friend of hers bought artificial flowers and sprayed it with jasmine perfume. This hair accessory was then used by the friend on special occasions.

The gajra made out of tissue paper resembles the one made from jasmine flowers. The tiny white-coloured flower smells beautiful so gajra is not only a decorative accessory for hair but also provides fragrance. Although predominantly made from jasmine flowers, gajra can also be made using other flowers like marigold, violet or rose.
