A TikTok user has claimed that her neighbour called the police over her outfit, slamming it as ‘inappropriate.’ Rovi Wade, from Los Angeles, California, US, was filming a video with her housemate outside her home when she was approached by her furious neighbour over her outfit and dancing on the street. As per The Sun, Rovi politely told the neighbour that she had ‘every right’ to be there as it was public property but the neighbour threatened to call the police.
Moments later, Rovi was confronted by the police officers outside her house, their interaction was recorded by Rovi which she later shared on TikTok. In the viral video viewed more than 11 million times, she can be heard telling the officers that “she is fully dressed”. Revealing that she didn’t believe the threat by her neighbour of calling the cops on her, the dancer tells the officers her neighbour “doesn’t like her style”.
“I told her if my body offends you and that’s what the issue is.” She adds she is “allowed to exist and be hot” and she is going to continue to do so. She tells the officer that she doesn’t know what the neighbour expects the cops to do to which police can be heard agreeing with her by saying, “That is true. I understand.”
The video shared on Saturday has garnered a huge response from netizens who are praising her for standing up for herself while many asked to see her outfit which was deemed inappropriate.
Rovi shared another video revealing what she wore- ripped denim shorts, paired with fringed sparkly silver crop top with a spiked choker and a pair of black knee-high boots.
One person asked what the neighbour expected her to do. “To get the police to dress code you?” While another person suggested her husband was probably checking her out and she got upset.
Another person scoffed letting people wear what they want needs to be normalised.
Rovi shared another video revealing her neighbour had claimed to police that she was filming on her property without a permit.
