NH7 Weekender: With stunning installations and creative graffiti artworks, the festival goes beyond discovering new music

As the year's can't-miss event comes to Delhi today, we tell you how NH7 Weekender goes beyond music.

With several top performers and international and indie bands taking to the stage, NH7 Weekender - held in Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Pune - is an undisputed choice for those looking for a massive musical celebration.

As the year's can't-miss event comes to Delhi today, we tell you how NH7 Weekender goes beyond music.

Agreed, majority of the guests are already flattered with the interesting lineup, and genres that range from metal to electronica and folk rock. But there are several elaborate and poignantly beautiful installations, live graffiti adorning the venue that are hard to miss.

Artiste Ayushman Mitra may have worked with NH7 Weekender for the first time, but he has been successful in capturing the essence of the festival through his artworks.

"I have used the motif of a human split face that appears to be engaged in a lip lock. The art talks about liberation, we aren't targeting any particular gender or sex. In the lounge area, we have used huge beds that have been placed on the ground. With this thought we just wanted to tell people that they are expected to be conscious of their social behavior. We just want guests to be themselves. The festival is about spreading cheer and that's what our installations also promote," said Ayushman Mitra whose art installation 'The art of kissing' has been used at the venue.

At the venue Buddh International Circuit, the visitors can will also get to see his installation Lolly Dolly, which has been created by 8ft lollypop-like formations, and House Tripping, which resembles a cottage adorned with windows and doors made in shape of hearts.

Artist and illustrator Shilo Shiv Suleman will also showcase her installations at the venue. Pulse And Bloom is made of lotuses of different heights, adorned with lily pads.

As the festival continues to combine music, art and social awareness, its fan base is expected to grow by the day.
